1/2″ diameter – 10″ long sticks. Works well in an open flame or with most higher quality (and higher temp) glue guns. Smell is reminiscent of shellac. The viscosity gives this glue a nice thick floating character, which helps you control the tipping of the pad. It also helps keep squeeze out to a minimum. Amber-Melt doesn’t get too thin or runny like hardware store glues. Also, “stringing” is diminished. The shrink factor when cooling is greatly reduced as compared to other hot melt glues. This prevents the pad from being pulled up into the cup when the glue cools, thereby losing coverage in the back. Contains no paraffin, therefore it won’t blacken and smoke like common variety hot melts. Softening point is 198°F with a 30 second open time.
