Many techs seal flute headjoint corks with paraffin. Also use for saxophone neck corks. Paraffin seals the pores in the cork and make the cork last much longer and leaves a beautiful finish. Simply heat the wax in a flame, drop a few drops on the cork, then spread the wax with a hot knife or spatula. Wipe the excess off with a wipe while still warm. That’s it!
